A big change is being made in the rules to be implemented by telecom companies from October 1. According to these rules, now customers will be able to easily know which mobile service (2G, 3G, 4G or 5G) is available in their area.
TRAI has made it mandatory for the companies to display the said information on their website.
TRAI has made strict quality norms for telecom companies to improve 4G and 5G networks. Violating these norms can lead to heavy fines on the companies. Apart from this, strict instructions have been given to telecom operators to curb fake SMS and calls. This rule of TRAI was to come into effect from September 1.
Telecom companies provide different types of data signals in different cities. Somewhere 5G is good and somewhere 2G is better. This new rule has been brought with the aim of giving correct information to the customers and providing them better service.
There will be a change from October 1
From October 1, only secure URLs or OTP links will be sent in messages for communication. Apart from this, by September 30, the first marketing calls starting from the 140 series will be transferred to the digital platform to simplify monitoring.
This rule is important for the customers because it will give them easy access to information about which services are available to them. This will give correct information to the company as well as the customers and it will also be easier for the telecom company to improve its network and answer the questions of the customers.
Improvement of online services
Apart from this, all telecom companies have been asked to improve their online services. Under this directive, Mobile Telecom Service Rules 2009, Wireless Data Quality Rules 2012 and Service Rules 2006 will be implemented from October.
