New Rule For Passengers, Indian Railways has made a big change in the charting system, check all details

Indian Railways has made a big change in the charting system. Railways has given a big relief to those with waiting tickets by increasing the time for preparing the chart. Now the chart will be prepared 8 hours before the train departs.

Till now, the railways used to prepare the reservation chart 4 hours before the train departure due to which passengers with waiting tickets had to wait till the last moment for their tickets to be confirmed. This becomes a big problem for those passengers who come from far-off places to catch the train. For trains departing before 2 am, the chart will be prepared at 9 pm the day before. For the rest of the trains, the chart will now be prepared 8 hours before the departure of the train.

With this change, passengers with waiting tickets will get timely information, so that they can make alternative travel plans. Especially passengers coming from rural areas or suburbs of cities will get a big benefit from this.

This facility will also be started

Railways is soon going to launch a new and modern Passenger Reservation System (PRS), which will start by December 2025. This project is being handled by the Center for Railway Information System (CRIS). The new PRS system will be able to book more than 1.5 lakh tickets in a minute, which is about five times more than the current 32,000 tickets per minute. Also, the ticket inquiry system will also be upgraded, in which the inquiry capacity will increase from 4 lakh to 40 lakh per minute. This will provide real-time booking information to millions of passengers.

Apart from this, linking of Aadhaar will be mandatory for Tatkal booking from July 1, 2025. To book tickets in the Tatkal quota, passengers will have to provide Aadhaar details at the time of booking. Railways expects that around 7.57 billion passengers will travel in FY 2026, which is more than 7.27 billion in FY 2025.
