Tenancy stamp duty: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while emphasizing on the online system of stamp and registration, said that a draft should be prepared and a decision should be taken soon.
He also directed to reduce the stamp registration fee of rent agreement of residential, non-residential and commercial property. For this, the process of agreement will be simplified.
The Chief Minister gave these instructions in an important meeting with the officials of the Stamp and Registration Department on Saturday. He said that online system of stamp and registration is the need of the hour for ease of living, better records and data management. Under the Online Registration Rules 2024, the entire system of codification of existing registrations, e-registration and e-filing should be transparent. The work of e-registration should be done through government institutions and RERA certified institutions.

The Chief Minister said that under e-registration, in Phase-1, government agencies i.e. development and industrial authorities should be given approval for sale deed, agreement and lease deed. Presentation and approval should be given by the nodal officers of government agencies, and the photo and signature of the parties should also be done digitally or electronically.
