Delhi Property Tax: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has changed the rules for property tax payment. The MCD has decided to implement the new rules for tax payment from July 1.
In view of the cases of check ‘bounce’, the MCD will not accept property tax payment through check from July 1. The MCD said in a statement on Wednesday that from next month, property tax will have to be paid digitally through UPI, wallet, demand draft, pay order or any online payment medium.
The body said that due to legal issues arising out of cheque bouncing, payment of property tax through this mode will be discontinued from July. The MCD has also appealed to property owners and occupants of vacant lands and buildings to pay tax for the year 2024-25 and get a discount of 10 per cent on lump sum payment before June 30.
