Along with this, the southwest monsoon is also advancing. Favorable conditions indicate that it will advance towards Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, northwest Bay of Bengal, Gangetic West Bengal, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some areas of Bihar within the next 4-5 days. This progress will bring great relief from the heat and will also provide relief to agricultural activities dependent on monsoon rains.

Light showers will bring relief in Delhi today!

Talking about Delhi, it is expected to be partly cloudy today and there are chances of thunderstorm or lightning along with drizzle. Apart from this, sometimes heat wave conditions can also occur with strong surface winds. However, there is no possibility of relief in temperature. The maximum temperature in Delhi today can go up to 44 degrees and the minimum temperature was 30 degrees Celsius. But strong winds can provide some relief to Delhiites for some time.

There is a possibility of heavy rain in these areas

Weather systems, including a cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and an east-west trough, are contributing to widespread light to moderate rainfall with intense rain and thunderstorms over northeast India and the sub-Himalayan region. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rains are forecast over parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and northeastern states over the next five days. This persistent rain is expected to ease drought-like conditions, but may also increase the risk of floods and landslides.

Apart from this, widespread rains with strong winds are expected over the western coast of India and entire South India. Meanwhile, areas like Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh may receive sporadic rains with thunderstorms in the coming five days.
