What are the rules for minor PAN card?
According to the rules of the Income Tax Department, a minor cannot apply for his/her own PAN card. Only parents can apply for a minor PAN card.
Why is PAN card necessary for minors?
- If a minor invests then it is necessary for him to have a PAN card.
- Even if there is a minor nominee in the parents’ investment plan, a minor PAN card is required.
- PAN card is also required while opening a bank account of a minor.
- Even if a minor earns through any means, a PAN card is required.
How to apply for minor PAN card
- Go to the official website of NSDL.
- Now here you have to fill Form 49A. Before filling this form, you have to read the instructions carefully.
- After this you will have to upload the age certificate of the minor, signature of the parents and photo of the parents.
- Now to get a PAN card made, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 107.
- As soon as you pay the fees you will get a receipt number.
- You can easily check the status of PAN card through the receipt number.
Let us tell you that within 15 days of applying for a PAN card, you will receive a confirmation on your registered email. After the verification process is complete, the PAN card will be sent to your address within 15 days.
